One of the church’s core values is “Being Children and Youth Oriented” meaning we try to be intentional about including children and youth in the life of the church. They can function as greeters, ushers, sing with the choir, etc.
Children’s ministry at PCC consists of nursery for infants through kindergarten ages during Sunday School and the worship service. Only screened volunteers with clear background clearances are allowed to volunteer in any children’s area.
During Sunday School, three combined-age, children’s classes are offered: 1st-2nd, 3rd-4th and 5th-6th.
A “Children’s Moment” is part of the worship service. Children in 1st grade and up are kept in the worship service during the sermon in order to help prepare them for being part of worship as they become adults.
Vacation Bible School occurs in June once school has ended. This is a week-long ministry to children through the 6th grade. VBS usually is held for 2-3 hours in the evening that week and includes various stations (games, story time, crafts, music, snack, etc.) that groups of children rotate to each evening. Not only is it a fun time, but it also serves as an outreach to non-churched families.
